Why we built it
For most people, the home is where the emissions are. Heating and powering a house is the biggest lever a household has, far bigger than the commute or the recycling, and it is the hardest one to pull alone. A heat pump or a solar array is a five figure decision made once, usually with no way of knowing whether the quote in front of you is a fair one.
People do not reject clean technology. They reject the price, the paperwork and the pressure.
An employer already has the two things a household does not: trust and scale. Put a few thousand employers behind the same set of vetted installers and the price drops, the admin disappears and the quality is someone's job to guarantee. That is the whole idea.
The Electric Car Scheme took the cost out of driving electric. The Net Zero Home Scheme takes the cost out of living electric.
How we designed it for employers
